ReplyDelete*american* football, if you please. some of us enjoy ACTUAL football. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou do know that American Football has every right to the name "football"? It originally was much more like rugby, and field goals were worth the most points, there was no forward pass, and you could score 2 points on a "free kick." It was about 20 or so years after it was created that the forward pass was introduced, the points for TDs started going up and points for FGs started going down.

Haha I agree with you there, Mare! I do enjoy a good game and have even attended an NFL game. But nope. Sigh. It's just not rugby where real men battle it out on the field sans prissy padding. Go All Blacks.
ReplyDeletejohn, american footballers carry the ball, ergo it is not football to my way of thinking. "yankee rules rugby", i'd give you.
